March new releases
This month sees the release of five new ‘books with spine’ by Melbourne University Publishing, with two luxe hardbacks and three new little books on big ideas.

Kindred tells the untold love story of eco-tourism pioneers Gustav Weindorfer and Kate Cowle. With stunning photography throughout, Kindred traces the achievements of these unconventional adventurers and their fight to preserve the wilderness of Cradle Mountain—now world heritage-listed. While neither lived to see their vision fully realised, Nikki Gemmell writes that this book ‘brings to light a hidden tale of Australia’s wilderness and unearths a love story of daring unconventionality in the process.’

While this generous gesture included a select number of gifts to state institutions and the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra, they determined to transfer the major part of the collection to Heide Museum of Modern Art in their hometown of Melbourne.
