Buying books on our website has changed
How to purchase MUP titles in 2025 and beyond
Melbourne University Publishing (MUP) is thrilled to begin our new sales and distribution partnership with Simon & Schuster Australia from February 2025, only a few short weeks away.
This change comes with some updates to how books are sold on mup.com.au which we ask our readers and book buyers to be aware of.
Our new titles will not be sold on mup.com.au in print format (for now)
The recent change to our Australian distribution means that we can no longer sell books stocked in our NSW warehouse via our website.
This includes all our newly published and upcoming titles, as well as any older titles that are still in print.
We are actively looking into solutions for this logistical issue. However,
Your local bookseller can help
Booksellers can order any MUP title for you to purchase in their store. Love your bookshop and buy local when you can. There are many online retail options available as well.
Ebooks are still available
Ebooks remain available to purchase in .epub and .mobi formats from mup.com.au and from your preferred ebook retailer.
Print On Demand (POD) titles are still available
Many MUP titles are available as Print-On-Demand, in which a single copy is printed and delivered to the purchaser. POD is a wonderful way to keep eligible books available in a printed format.
Our POD titles are unaffected and remain available to purchase on mup.com.au and your local bookseller can order POD titles for you as well.
Inconsistencies on mup.com.au in early 2025
We are experiencing inconsistent information on mup.com.au while we navigate the change to our distribution model, which will continue into early 2025. You may see some titles listed as OUT OF STOCK on their book pages. However, these books should be available from your local bookseller and online. A search-engine will be able to direct you to our in-stock titles or we encourage you to ask your local bookseller or librarian for assistance. You can also send us an email.
