Joy Damousi
Professor Joy Damousi is Australian Research Council Kathleen Fitzpatrick Laureate Fellow and Professor of History in the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies, University of Melbourne. She is the author of numerous books, including Freud in the Antipodes: A Cultural History of Psychoanalysis in Australia (winner of the Ernest Scott Prize); Colonial Voices: A Cultural History of English in Australia 1840-1940 and Memory and Migration in the Shadow of War. With Philip Dwyer she is the general editor of the four volume Cambridge World History of Violence. Damousi is also currently the editor of the History series for Melbourne University Press.
